Keno was created in 200 BC by the Chinese military commander, Cheung Leung who utilized keno as a way to finance his declining army. Cheung Leung had to develop a quick response for the economic disaster and to acquire revenue for his forces. He thusly invented the game we now know as keno and it was a wonderful success.

Keno used to be referred to as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from larger locations to the tinier towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was imported to America in the 1800s by Chinese migrants who came to the US to work. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.

Today, Keno is regularly enjoyed with just 80 numbers in just about all of American based casinos along with internet casinos. Keno is largely liked today as a result of the laid back nature of betting the game and the simple reality that there are no expertise required to enjoy Keno. Regardless of the fact that the odds of getting a win are appalling, there is always the chance that you will win quite big with a tiny gambling investment.

Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers with 20 numbers picked each game. Players of Keno can choose from 2 to ten numbers and wager on them, whatever amount they are able to. The payout of Keno is dependent on the wagers made and the matching of numbers.

Keno has grown in universal appeal in the US since the end of the 19th century when the Chinese characters were changed with more familiar, American numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the laws of gaming in Nevada State in 1931. The casinos adjusted the name of the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the concept that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to come in. When the Nevada government passed a law that taxed off track gambling, casinos swiftly adjusted the name to ‘Keno’.

Keno Methods That Will Help You Win

It will not usually be deemed the best game in the field of gambling, but keno has tons of zealous supporters. And it should! It’s a regularly exciting lotto-esque game that’s easy to learn, abundantly available in loads of different styles, and one that can yield millions of dollars for players who master its limitless subtle rules. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules here.

When explaining keno to newcomers, some betting pros compare it to lotto. This is at least partly correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far might be to belittle the innumerable unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno users have the ability to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is furnished with an increased level of personal responsibility by being able to determine as many (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your chosen numbers with a good old#2 pencil like you used when you were in school.

Once you have selected your numbers, take your card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The girl will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t drop this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your mug and would like to help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your time spent.

Now there you have strategy number one: always be sure to keep your keno slip. Let’s move on to something a little more advanced, ok?

After you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and see the action take place on the screen. This is where the winning numbers are displayed in lights. If you marked winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, since a new round of keno will most likely get going within a few minutes.

Strategy #2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Since you don’t trust yourself to meet that five-minute margin each time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from two to twenty cards. When the maximum amount of keno games (the same as the amount of tickets) is played out, you should then get off your numb bum and go redeem your winnings.

Yet another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which generally lets you make number selection for thirty keno games or more. Heck, you can take a Swedish massage and not have to worry about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" tickets are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

And now you have learned a few essential methods for winning keno. If you are an experienced gambler, they may appear to be incredibly obvious. However, it won’t hurt to bone up on the basic methods, and if you are a novice player, every tiny bit of information will help make your keno wagering more entertaining.
