Keno Tactics That Work

It may not ordinarily be considered the funnest game in the realm of wagering, but keno has tons of devoted players. As well it should! It’s a regularly entertaining lotto-type game that’s simple to master, abundantly available in loads of assorted formats, and one that may return millions for gamblers who learn its many subtle intricacies. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules for now.

When defining keno to amateurs, some gambling experts compare it to the lottery. This is at least in some ways apt, in that each game is fundamentally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far will be to belittle the countless unique aspect that make keno so interesting. Not like bingo, keno players have the ability to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the user is given an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to determine as many (or as few) numbers as he wants. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your chosen numbers with a every day old#2 pencil like you had when you were a kid.

Once you have checked your numbers, take the keno card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your mug and would like to help out, without a winning ticket with you, you will get exactly $.00 for your actions.

So, there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno ticket. Let us go on to something a little bit more useful, shall we?

After you’ve selected your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and see the action take place on a video monitor. That is where the winning numbers show up for all to see. If you checked winners, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to take too much time, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get up to the keno stand to collect your winnings, as a new round of keno will almost certainly get going within a few minutes.

Strategy #2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to meet that five-minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the max amount of games (the same as the number of tickets) is finished, you may then get off your lazy butt and go collect your winnings.

Still another alternative is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which usually allows you make number selection for 30 keno games or more. Hell, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to worry about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
